Pregnancy touches on health and private life: your data deserves the same care as your welcome. This page explains how the association Maison de Naissance « la Roseraie » processes the personal data collected through this website, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the European regulation (GDPR) applies, for example for someone living in neighbouring France, we also apply its principles.

Who is responsible

Association Maison de Naissance « la Roseraie », Chemin du Châtelet 3, 1205 Geneva. For any question about your data: info@mdnr.ch.

When you visit the website

Like any website, our server records technical information: IP address, date and time, page viewed, type of browser and device. These logs are used for the security and proper functioning of the website, and are deleted after a short time. We do not use them to identify you.

To find out which pages are useful to you, we measure visits to the website with Google Analytics, only if you agree. We see overall figures (pages viewed, length of visits, type of device, approximate region), never who you are. The website shows no advertising.

When you write to us

The website offers four forms: getting in touch, applying for care at La Roseraie, registering for antenatal classes and sending an open application. Each one only asks for what is needed to reply to you or prepare your care, and required fields are marked.

Your request reaches the relevant team by email. A copy is kept securely in the website’s administration area.

Health data

An application for care or a registration for antenatal classes contains information about your pregnancy, and a message may contain some too. This is health data, which the law considers sensitive. It is used only to organise your care and is read only by the members of the team who need it.

The forms are not designed for sending a medical file: we will discuss it together at an appointment.

Why we use it

  • to answer your questions;
  • to process your application and organise your care;
  • to organise the antenatal classes you register for;
  • to consider a job application;
  • to measure visits to the website, if you agree;
  • to keep the website secure.

We do not sell your data, rent it out or use it for advertising.

Who reads your messages

Only the people at the birth centre who handle your request read your messages: a midwife, management or administration, depending on the subject.

To work, the website relies on a few technical partners: Infomaniak, which hosts it in Switzerland, Microsoft 365 for our email, and Octante Digital, in Geneva, which maintains it. They run the tools and look after their security, without reading your messages or using your data for their own purposes.

Transfers abroad

The website and its data are hosted in Switzerland. Vimeo and YouTube (Google) are American companies: if you play a video, connection data is transmitted to them in the United States. Both are certified under the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, which Switzerland recognises as providing adequate protection.

Google Analytics is a Google service: if you agree, browsing data is transmitted to it, including in the United States. Google is also certified under the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • contact form messages: 12 months after our last exchange;
  • applications for care: 12 months after our reply if no care begins; if your care begins, the information becomes part of your care file;
  • antenatal class registrations: 12 months after the end of the session;
  • job applications: 6 months after the end of the recruitment process, unless you allow us to keep your file longer;
  • visit statistics: 14 months at most.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file that your browser stores. This website uses very few:

  • cookies needed for the website to work and to remember your cookie choices;
  • Google Analytics cookies, only if you accept them, to measure visits to the website;
  • Vimeo or YouTube cookies, only if you click to play a video (the presentation of the birth centre, the videos in articles). Until you click, the video is not loaded and these services receive nothing.

You can change your choices at any time using the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of the page, and delete cookies in your browser settings.

Security

The website is encrypted (HTTPS), hosted in Switzerland and regularly updated. Access to the administration area and to the messages received is restricted to authorised people.

Your rights

At any time, you can:

  • find out whether we process data about you and receive a copy of it;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate;
  • ask for it to be deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • object to processing or withdraw your consent;
  • receive the data you have given us in a common format.

Just write to us at info@mdnr.ch. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, edoeb.admin.ch.
