Staying at La Roseraie: feeling at home!

The first moments of life are spent as a family.

After the birth, a precious time begins: meeting your baby, recovering and taking your first steps in a new life.

At La Roseraie, we want these first days to take place in a warm, calm and intimate setting. After the birth, families stay about two days at the birth centre, looked after by the midwives.

Two days to take your time

During the postnatal stay at La Roseraie, the midwife visits regularly and carries out the clinical checks needed to monitor the mother’s recovery and the newborn’s adaptation; the baby is also examined by a paediatrician on the first day of life.

But the stay is about more than check-ups. Great importance is given to parents’ questions, their needs and everything there is to learn when a baby arrives.

How do you give the first care? How do you recognise your baby’s needs? How do you organise sleep, meals or breastfeeding?

The midwives are there to support parents through these first discoveries, with attentiveness and kindness.

Dedicated breastfeeding support

At La Roseraie, particular attention is given to this support and to establishing breastfeeding. The midwives answer parents’ questions, observe feeds and help with the first adjustments.

Rooms that feel like home

The birth centre has 3 postnatal rooms, in a peaceful, green setting. Each room has a double bed for the parents, a bedside crib and everything needed to care for the baby.

The rooms are arranged to protect the family’s privacy. After the intensity of the birth, parents can take time to catch their breath, sleep when possible and enjoy their newborn.

Here, the stay after the birth is above all a gentle time of transition.

Balanced meals to look after new parents

At La Roseraie, balanced meals are served in a shared, friendly dining room. They can also be served in your room.

The birth centre works with La Petite Cigogne, founded by Amira, a dietitian and young mother. She offers healthy, delicious meals made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, designed to bring energy, balance and pleasure!

And the support can continue once you are home: La Petite Cigogne offers meal delivery packages, so that new parents can lighten their daily load during the postnatal period.

Protecting your privacy after the birth

After the birth, loved ones are naturally eager to meet the baby. But the first days also matter for the mother’s rest, the newborn’s rhythm and the first moments as a family.

To protect this privacy, visits at La Roseraie are by appointment, preferably between 3 pm and 6 pm.

Parents arrange the visits with their visitors themselves and open the door to them when they arrive.

This way, each family can find its own rhythm and enjoy quiet moments, especially during rest times or feeds.

La Roseraie: a place to be born and become parents

We believe the first days after birth deserve as much attention as the birth itself. The stay gives you time to get to know each other, recover, learn the first gestures and gradually build your confidence as parents.
